Lebanese Islamo-Christian spiritual meeting condemns anti-Islam film
BEIRUT, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- An Islamo-Christian spiritual summit held here Monday condemned the film "Innocence of Muslims," which has recently sparked outrage throughout the Muslim world and some ensuing violent reactions, the National News Agency reported.
The film, reportedly made by some migrant Coptic in United States, contains contents that insults the Muslim Prophet Mohammed.
In a statement issued following the summit held at the Maronite Siege of Bkirki, participants stressed the need to protect religions against various insults and attacks, and called to form a committee of legal experts to devise the appropriate statement that can well protect religions.
They meanwhile urged the United Nations and Arab League to take necessary measures to prevent the abuse of religions and their symbols, warning that the tensions created between Muslims and Christians may lead to strife. Enditem
