At least four people were injured when a helicopter made a hard landing in the Omsk Region of Siberia on Saturday, local media reported.

According to RIA Novosti news agency, an Mi-8 transport helicopter carrying three crew and 17 passengers crashed on landing near the village of Sedelnikovo.

Three people, who were admitted to hospital with bone fractures, were in severe condition. Another received a light injury and refused to be hospitalized.

"Before landing, the helicopter went into uncontrolled spinning, then fell to the ground and broke up," local media quoted a source at Russia's UTair Aviation airline, owner of the helicopter, as saying.

Preliminary information gathered indicated bad weather was the cause of the crash.

Further investigation was underway. Endi
