Eight Palestinian cars were damaged and spray-painted with the words "Gaza Price Tag" on them, in an apparent price tag attack, police sources confirmed to Xinhua on Sunday.

The cars were vandalized in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat. The police are currently investigating the incident.

The address refers to the military confrontation with Hamas in Gaza, which ended last week, and reflects the dissatisfaction of some Israelis that reckoned the army should continue fighting and embark on a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.

Price tag is a term used to describe acts of vandalism and violence by Jewish settlers towards Palestinian targets mostly in the West Bank, usually carried out in retaliation to the evacuation of West Bank settlements.

In September, Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovich announced that the police will set up special work force to battle Jewish terrorism and price tag attacks.

According to a recent report on the Ha'aretz daily, in the past two years only 23 indictments were filed against suspected price tag vandals, out of 170 documents price tag attacks.

Last week, a Palestinian taxi was set ablaze near Hebron. Last month, price-tag slogans were sprayed on the Church of Dormition on Mount Zion, near Jerusalem's old city.

There were also several attacks triggering Palestinian cars and property throughout the month of August, after the army closed down an outpost named Migron and evicted its residents to a nearby settlement. Endi
