Iran exports 9.9 million tons of petrochemicals products in 7 months

Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Managing Director Abdolhossein Bayat said that his country exported about 9.9 million tons of petrochemicals in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, Tehran Times daily reported on Wednesday.

The exports are worth over 7 billion U.S. dollars in value, Bayat was quoted as saying.

He also said that as much as 80 billion dollars in investment opportunities have been identified in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the Iranian petrochemical industry, which is taking great steps toward development, said Bayat.

The NPC pays special attention to the attraction of investments in order to achieve this goal, he said.

According to local reports, Western Europe and China are the main destinations of Iran's petrochemical exports, followed by Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Africa and Latin America. Endi
