Russian and Syrian diplomats discussed ways of coming out of the crisis in the Arab country through a wide national dialogue, Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with Syrian Ambassador to Moscow, Riyad Haddad, the ministry said in a statement.

"The thorough conversation about developments in Syria and around has taken place. The ways of a sooner settlement of the domestic conflict through a wide national dialogue were discussed, " according to the ministry.

The two diplomats stressed such dialogue should be based on an immediate stop of bloodshed and any violence.

Haddad paid special attention to the recent political program offered by the Syrian government aimed at solving the crisis, said the statement.

On Sunday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad proposed a three- point political solution, which includes ceasefire followed by a comprehensive national dialogue conference and the establishment of a broad-based government and parliament.

Earlier Wednesday, Russian Foreign Ministry said the crisis in Syria must be solved taking into account the proposals made by the Syrian president recently. Endi
