The U.S. Department of the Treasury said on Friday that it is sending its point man on international sanctions to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to discuss the implementation of sanctions against Iran and Syria.
David Cohen, Treasury's under-secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, will travel to the Gulf nation next week to continue the "global engagement" on issues related to financing of terrorism worldwide, the department said in a brief statement.
Topics will include the implementation of the existing sanctions against Iran and Syria, as well as the need to guard against Iran's attempts to evade sanctions, it added. Endi
