Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday called on heads of parliaments of other countries to take a clear, firm position rejecting "Israel's hostility and its official terrorism manifested in its air assault on a Syrian research center."
Berri's made his remarks in a letter to his Arab and European counterparts, saying that the Israeli air assault was a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of a UN member state.
He called for "solidarizing with Syria and enhancing its stability and maintaining the integrity of its land, people and institutions."
He added "this aggression at this particular time constitutes an additional Israeli attempt to destabilize Syria, and an attempt to impede the current international and regional political efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis."
Berri underlined that Israeli pretexts given for such an aggression are completely untrue.
