Anne Hathaway, who plays in "Les Miserables," won the Oscar Award of Actress in Supporting Role Sunday night at the 85th Academy Awards Ceremony.

In the film, Hathaway plays a young mother who loses her job in a factory and struggles to find money to support her daughter.

She succeeded over Amy Adams in "The Master," Sally Field in "Lincoln," Helen Hunt in "The Sessions" and Jacki Weaver in "Silver Linings Playbook" to win the goldern statue.

It is the first Oscar award of the 30-year-old performer, but it was her second nomination. She was previously nominated in the best actress catergory in 2008 for performance in "Rachel Getting Married."

The Award for best actor in supporting role went to Christoph Waltz in "Django Unchained" at the begining of the ceremony. Endi
