Bulgarians marked the Day of Valor and Bulgarian Army on Monday with a variety of festive events throughout the country.
Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev and interim Prime Minister Marin Raykov joined cabinet ministers, diplomats and citizens in taking part in the official ceremony of blessing of the flags and laying wreaths at the Unknown Soldier monument here in Sofia.
This was followed a military parade opened by a Mi-17 helicopter carrying the national flag.
An open day was organized at the National Museum of Military History where people had the opportunity to see weapons such as Soviet-made tanks T-34 and T-72, MiG-21 and MiG-23 fighters, and Dvina and KRUG missile complexes.
