Former U.S. President Bill Clinton is set to visit Israel in June to participate in the world presidents' conference.
With the participation of Israeli President Shimon Peres, Clinton will deliver a lecture on sustainability and sustainable development during the conference, Prof. Ron Shapira, head of the Peres Academic Center, confirmed to Xinhua.
"We're very proud to host the world presidents' conference and specifically President Clinton, one of the greatest friends of the State of Israel," Shapira told Xinhua.
The conference would be held by the Peres Academic Center in the city of Rehovot, located 20 km south of Tel Aviv.
The 67 year-old Clinton is regarded as one of Israel's closest allies in the past several decades and is revered by the Israeli public.
He had visited Israel four times during his time as president and is remembered for his tearful eulogy of former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated in November 1995. Endi
