Ferrer first player to enter third round at French Open

Fourth seed David Ferrer became the first player in the men's draw to enter the third round at the French Open here on Wednesday.

The Spaniard, who beat Australia's Marinko Matosevic in the opening round, made quick work of compatriot albert Montanes 6-2, 6-1, 6-3.

He will next take on either Feliciano Lopez of Spain or Joao Sousa of Portugal.

The 10th-seeded Marin Cilic of Croatia also booked a third-round berth after beating Australia's wild card entry Nick Kyrgios 6-4, 6-2, 6-2.

In the women's matches, Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland defeated American Mallory Burdette 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the third round. Endi
