S. African people to plan for Mandela's birthday: Zuma

"We remind all South Africans to begin planning for Madiba's birthday on the 18th of July," President Jacob Zuma said in a Presidency's statement on Monday.

"President Nelson Mandela is still critical but stable," said the statement, but local media have been guessing that there might be some good news.

"We hope very soon he will be out of hospital," Zuma said on last Saturday, stirred guesses about some hidden good signs about the nation icon, whose condition has been "critical" since June 23.

Mandela, 95 in next month, was sent to a Pretoria hospital for a serious condition of recurring lung infection on June 8, which is the nation hero's fourth hospital-stay in seven month. Endi
