Japanese Yuki Kawauchi leveled a meet record as he claimed the men's title at the Gold Coast Marathon on Sunday.
Kawauchi, who has already qualified for the World Championships in Moscow next month, came in first with a timing of two hours, 10 minutes and one second, beating compatriot Taiga Ito, who clocked 2:11.52.
"I registered a fairly good time which wasn't out of my expectation," said Kawauchi. "Winning this race is my first target and my bigger dream is about the world championships." Endi
