At least eight people were killed and four others wounded on Saturday in an armed clash caused by a land dispute between two families in southeastern Turkey, private Dogan news agency reported.
A gunfight broke out between the Ustun family in Baskoy village and the Ek family in Karatepe village in Bismil town of Diyarbakir province over a land dispute, according to the report.
Governor of Diyarbakir, Mustafa Cahit Kirac, was quoted as saying that "Two wounded people were taken to a hospital in Batman province and another two wounded were taken to Diyarbakir Training and Research Hospital for medical treatment."
Turkish security forces have taken intensified measures in the region, as an investigation into the incident has been launched, the report said. Endi
