Danish triathlete Jens Petersen-Bach won the first Iron Man in Denmark held in Copenhagen on Sunday.

He used 8 hours, 12 minutes and 41 seconds to complete the three disciplines.

The first woman to complete the 3.8-kilometer swimming followed by a 180-kilometer bicycle race before the contestants went out in the marathon distance, was Eva Wutti from Austria in the time 8:37:36.

Copenhagen has earlier hosted international triathlon events, but it is the first time the race in the Danish capital has been approved to use the name Iron Man. The winners qualify to participate in the world famous Iron Man on Hawaii.

The 45-year-old Danish Crown Prince Frederik also completed the first Copenhagen Iron Man in 10:45:32. Actually, Frederik is now the first royal in the world to complete an Iron Man. Enditem
