The Olympic Council of Asia takes pride in the success of 3x3 basketball, which proves to be innovative and attractive, not only for the spectators but the athletes themselves.
OCA President Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah has pointed out that Asia could take credit for introducing the all-action, fast-flowing format of the sport in the Asian Beach Games.
"At the beginning nobody knew about 3x3 basketball," he said earlier this week. "The first 3x3 basketball was in Asia. It started because of the Asian Beach Games and now the IOC takes it to the Youth Olympic Games."
With games lasting only 10 minutes and the teams taking it in turn to attack - or defend - the one basket, the action and drama is relentless all over the compact court.
During the girls' and boys' finals to a raucous full house at the Wutaishan Gymnasium on Thursday night, hosts China won, adding two more golds to its medal tally. Chinese Taipei got the two silvers. The girls' bronze went to Thailand and the boys' went to South Korea. Endi
