Yields on Albanian treasury bills (T-bills) remained stable at the first auction of 2014 held by the Bank of Albania on Wednesday.
According to the data published by the central bank, the government was able to meet its demand for financing by borrowing a total amount of 26.7 billion lek (260 million U.S. dollars) through the auction of 12-month and six-month T-bills.
The central bank said that the average yield on the 12-month bills was 3.83 percent, maintaining almost the same level registered at the past auctions at the end of last year.
The average yield on six-month bills was 3.71 percent, slightly rising compared with 3.69 percent at the past auctions.
Compared with the second half of December 2013, Albania's financial market reacted better and showed growing interest in meeting the government's demand for financing. Endi
