China will continue its sincere cooperation with Africa helping the continent develop its economy, Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia said on Wednesday.
Briefing journalists at the African Union (AU) building constructed by a Chinese company in the capital city of Ethiopia, Ambassador Xie Xiaoyan recalled that the cooperation and relations between China and Africa date back to many decades at a time when Africa didn't get such attention as it is getting now.
Xie, who is also the Chinese Representative to the African Union, stated that China is keen to further strengthen its cooperation with Africa and with more countries on the continent.
Speaking about the visit of the Japanese Prime Minister, the ambassador said, "The Japanese Prime Minister has been trying to sow discord with China, its other neighbors and other countries in other parts of the world."
"About the recent visit of the Japanese Prime Minister, he is trying to put two faces: one to be a peace-loving country, a peace- loving leader, who talks about cooperation in economics, in peace and security issues and trying to be a friend to Africa. The other face this politician has in Asia is that, he is doing all kinds of things that I have mentioned about to make trouble among the neighboring countries. Actually, Abe has become the biggest trouble maker in Asia," said the ambassador.
The ambassador stated that the recent Abe's visit to Yasukuni Shrine, where Class-A war criminals are honored, was denounced and condemned not only among neighboring countries but also around the world.
"He is leading the country onto the very dangerous road and the international community should do everything to prevent Japan from going down even further along the road," said Xie.
The ambassador noted that Africa and its people, who are far away from Asia, should be informed about what happened during the Japanese invasion to Asian countries and also what Japanese leaders are doing now.
The ambassador supported his briefing with pictures showing atrocities and cruelties taken during the invasion.
Furthering its sincere cooperation with Africa, China will continue its support to ensure peace and stability on the continent, said the ambassador. Endi
