The Berlin Film Festival on Friday completed its lineup for its main program Panorama 2014.
The Panorama, an integral part of the official program, presents new endeavours by noted filmmakers as well as discoveries and has been the home of both auteur cinema and innovative approaches to different cinematic genres.
With 24 world premieres and 36 films from 29 countries and regions, the festival aims to give an overview of international fictional-feature productions this year.
Entries include works from Norway, Ethiopia, Mexico and India, with returning filmmakers Elfi Mikesch and Umut Dag, who opened Panorama 2012 with his directorial debut "Kuma".
The film "The Night" by Zhou Hao from China is highlighted as one of this year's most astonishing debuts at the Berlin Film Festival.
Masters of Hong Kong cinema are now also in the lineup, as Dante Lam will show "That Demon Within" and Fruit Chan with "The Midnight After".
The Panorama's main program will open on Feb. 6 with a Vietnamese sci-fi surprise "Nuoc" by Nghiem-Minh Nguyen-Vo.
