Ukraine's industrial output dipped 4. 7 percent year on year in 2013 due to weak performance of the country's processing sector, Ukraine's State Statistics Service said Friday.
In 2013, Ukraine's processing industry saw a yearly decline of 7.7 percent, while the electric power, gas and water supply industry fell 1.3 percent, the statistical agency said in a report.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's mining industry increased 0.4 percent year on year, the report said.
In December alone, industrial output was down 0.5 percent from a year earlier. On a monthly basis, industrial output rose 0.1 percent in December from that of November, it said.
In 2012, Ukraine's industrial output fell 0.5 percent due to reduced demand for the country's exports in the global market.
The Ukrainian government targets to achieve a 2.5-percent growth of industrial production in 2014. Endite
