The negotiations between Italy's Bologna and China's Guangzhou Evergrande over the transfer of Alessandro Diamanti have fallen through as both sides allegedly failed on the terms of payment.

Bologna released an open letter to Guangzhou club president Liu Yongzhuo on its official website to confirm that they have ended the talks with the Chinese outfit coached by Marcello Lippi.

"First of all we thank you for your kind interest in the player Alessandro Diamanti; unfortunately we have to inform you that due to the non acceptance of our requests related to the agreement, we are forced to stop the negotiation," the letter read.

Early reports in Italy suggested that Diamanti had agreed to terms with the Chinese club who are expected to pay nine million euro as transfer fee to Bologna. Endi
