U.S. director Oliver Stone's latest documentary about Venezuela's late President Hugo Chavez will premiere in the country on Wednesday to mark the one-year anniversary of his death.
The film "Mi Amigo Hugo" ("My Friend Hugo") will be aired at 9 p.m. (0130 GMT on Thursday) on the government-owned Telesur network, the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN) said Tuesday.
"The movie ... provides a human portrait of the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution," the agency said.
Stone wrote last Tuesday on his official Twitter feed that this is "a documentary commemorating the first anniversary of Chavez's death."
Telesur President Patricia Villegas said in January that the premiere will be accompanied by "behind the scenes" footage, uploaded to the network's website, showing how the documentary was made and full-length interviews of the personalities that appear in the movie, according to AVN.
Other events are scheduled to mark the anniversary of the revolutionary leader's death, including a military-civic parade in the capital of Caracas. Endi
