European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton on Wednesday pledged here to help Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) boost economic recovery and job creation.
During a meeting with Vjekoslav Bevanda, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Ashton said the EU will consider the possibility of a new package to enable economic recovery and job creation in BiH, and fully support the integration process of BiH.
Ashton and Bevanda also talked about the protests in BiH, which turned violent on Feb. 7, with over 200 injured and the presidential building set on fire.
Ashton urged the BiH government to immediately find a way to solve the problems. Bevanda, on his part, asked the EU to focus on economic issues which will bring new opportunities, especially to young people.
The BiH government will work to fight against corruption and organized crimes, Bevanda said, adding that the existing institutions and agencies of BiH need to coordinate and work at full capacity.
Ashton, who arrived in Sarajevo Tuesday night, also met members of BiH presidency earlier Wednesday. Endi
