Japanese car-maker Toyota has reportedly agreed to reopen its main production center in India following the intervention of authorities.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor, a joint venture between the world's largest car maker and India-based Kirloskar group, had Sunday suspended operations at its two plants at its main production center at Bidadi near the southern Indian state of Karnataka's capital Bengaluru over wage dispute with workers.
"But, the company has decided to lift the lockout on 24th March, " Additional Labor Commissioner J.T. Jinkalappa told the media in state capital, after nearly three days of intense negotiations between Toyota India management and the employees union.
Over 6,500 employees work at the two plants which can roll out some 700 cars a day, with an annual production of 310,000 units. Endi
