The German benchmark index DAX at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday lost 0.66 percent to close at 9339.17 points.
The tensions in Ukraine still weighed on the investors' confidence and the trading at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange was sluggish, according to the German business daily Handelsblatt. The DAX index recovered more than 200 points compared with one week earlier.
The semiconductor producer Infineon Technologies AG led the risers' list, up by 1.76 percent. The chemical company LANXESS AG advanced by 0.61 percent. HeidelbergCement AG, Deutsche Bank AG and Linde AG rose moderately by 0.51 percent, 0.42 percent and 0.27 percent, respectively.
The sports company adidas AG suffered the heaviest loss of 2.36 percent. The utilities company RWE AG St, Siemens AG, E.ON AG and Continental AG slipped by 1.4 percent, 1.25 percent, 1.15 percent and 1.09 percent, respectively.
The turnover was 2.45 billion euros (around 3.25 billion U.S. dollars). Deutsche Bank AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 191.3 million euros (around 253.75 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
