The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday went up slightly by 0.23 percent and closed above 9700 points.
The Frankfurt Stock Exchange rallied on Thursday as the European Central Bank cut interest rates and disclosed a bunch of easing measures.
The DAX index continued its upward trend during the trading on Friday morning but slumped in the afternoon as the Eurostat confirmed the gloomy Gross Domestic Product data for the Euro zone. Weak job numbers from the United States also contributed to the slump in the afternoon.
The DAX index added 22.76 points and closed at 9,747.02 points.
Commerzbank AG led the risers' list and gained by 1.64 percent. Daimler AG advanced by 1.61 percent, followed by the health care group Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, Volkswagen AG Vz and the agricultural chemical and salt company K+S Aktiengesellschaft, up by 1.33 percent, 1.16 percent and 1.03 percent.
Deutsche Boerse AG slipped the most by 0.97 percent. The skin care company Beiersdorf Aktiengesellschaft, adidas AG, BASF SE and Allianz SE each dropped by 0.83 percent, 0.81 percent, 0.42 percent and 0.37 percent.
The turnover stood at 3.01 billion euros (around 3.94 billion U.S. dollars). Daimler AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 287.33 million euros (around 375.76 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
