Russia will grant a loan equivalent to 1.55 billion U.S. dollars to Belarus, Belarusian Finance Ministry told local media Wednesday.
The agreement, signed between the finance ministries of Belarus and Russia, inked the allocation of financial resources in Russian rubles equivalent to 1.55 billion U.S. dollars for 15 years, including a five-year grace period, said a representative of the Belarusian Ministry.
According to the agreement, the money will be transferred to the central state budget of Belarus within the next few days. The loan is supposed to repay and service the state debt and replenish the country's gold and foreign currency reserves. Endite
