Butler's 35 lifts Bulls over Knicks

Jimmy Butler scored a career-high 35 points and the Chicago Bulls beat the New York Knicks 103-97 Thursday night.

It was a game without All-Stars Derrick Rose, who was out with an illness and Carmelo Anthony, who sat out with a sore left knee.

Butler was 11 of 21 from the floor with four 3-pointers, five rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Pau Gasol added 20 points and 7 rebounds.

Joakim Noah had four points and 13 rebounds in his first game back after missing four straight with a right ankle problem.

Tim Hardaway Jr.led Knicks with 23 points, followed by Amar'e Stoudemire's 16. Endi
