Asian kiteboarding tournament to take place in Vietnam

The International Kiteboarding Association has chosen Ninh Chu Bay in Vietnam's Ninh Thuan province as one of venues for its Asian champion series, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said Monday.

   The Asian kiteboarding championships 2016, or KTA X-Champs Series as named by the association, will be attended by over 100 kiteboarders from 40 countries and regions.

   The first series of KTA X-Champs will be held at Ninh Chu Bay in Ninh Hai District on Feb. 24-28 next year, the second series in Thailand on March 15-20, and the last series in China on April 6-10.

   Kiteboarding is a surface water sport combining aspects of surfing, windsurfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding, paragliding and gymnastics into one extreme sport.  Endi
