Sri Lankan PM to seek investment at World Economic Forum

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Tuesday left for Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum annual meeting there, the prime minister's media office said.

This is the first time Sri Lanka has been invited to participate in the World Economic Forum. The annual meeting will kick off on Wednesday.

During his visit, the prime minister will be engaging with international investors towards possible investment in Sri Lanka.

The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum is recognized as an important event that brings the world's leaders together to engage with the international community on shaping global, regional and industry agendas that drive the world economy.

Among those who accompanied the prime minister were Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickrema and Governor of the Central Bank Arjun Mahendran. Endit
