Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar will host a first meeting with his new Croatian counterpart Tihomir Oreskovic here on Friday, primarily to discuss bilateral relations and the migration crisis.

Their working meeting marks the first visit abroad by Oreskovic since he was sworn in on Jan. 22, the Slovenian Press Agency (STA) reported, quoting an announcement from Cerar's office.

According to an earlier report, Croatian foreign minister Miro Kovac said Croatia's priority under the new government would be to mend relations with neighbors and actively participate in finding solutions to the refugee crisis.

Relations between Slovenia and Croatia cooled down significantly last summer after a wiretapping scandal erupted regarding the ongoing arbitration on the border between the countries.

Relations further soured when Slovenia accused Croatia of dumping refugees at its doorstep in October without prior coordination. Slovenia has since erected over 150 km of razor wire fence along its border with Croatia to control the flow of refugees. Endit
