Box-office powerhouse "Inside Out" was the biggest winner at the 43rd annual Annie Awards presented here on Saturday nigh by the International Animated Film Society to honor the best in animation on film and on the small screen.
"Inside Out", produced by Disney's Pixar Animation Studios, swept 10 awards, including Best Animated Feature, Outstanding Achievement in Writing and Music in featured productions.
Phyllis Smith won Outstanding Achievement for Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production.
The 2013 Brazilian animation film "Boy and the World" which is nominated for Oscar best animation film won the first best independent animated feature.
Officials with the Animated Film Society said they created the category of best independent animated feature this year to give more attention to films that were never in wide release.
"The Good Dinosaur", another production by Pixar, won the Best Animated Effects in the film category.
Beating out "The Hobbit," "Maze Runner" and "Jurassic World", Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" won the Outstanding Achievement in Animated Effects in a Live Action Production.
