-- The Zambian government is optimistic of stability in mining sector operations following the boost in copper prices on the international market.
Minister of Mines and Minerals Development Christopher Yaluma said that the boost in the base metal prices had opened the window for increased production in Africa's second largest copper producer.(Times of Zambia)
-- Former Zambian President Frederick Chiluba's wife has died after battling cancer.
Regina Chiluba died at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka, the country's capital where she had been hospitalized for a week, her son Mando confirmed. (Zambia Daily Mail)
-- A first-ever Civil Society Organizations directory has been launched in Zambia by a local think-tank.
