WASHINGTON, July 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. State Department warned travelers to Mexico about possible tainted or substandard alcohol on Wednesday.

The problematic alcohol would result in illness or blacking out, said the department in an updated information page on its website.

The travelers who chose to drink alcohol should "do so in moderation and to stop and seek medical attention" if one began to feel ill.

The warning came after an investigation about a U.S. citizen's death in Mexican resorts which raised questions about the drinks served there. Enditem
