LOS ANGELES, July 26 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. teen driver who livestreamed a fatal crash that killed her sister on social media was charged with gross manslaughter among other criminal offenses on Wednesday, according to the District Attorney's Office of Merced County, California.

Obdulia Sanchez, an 18-year-old girl of Stockton, California, was charged with one count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, an alternative count of gross vehicular manslaughter, two counts of driving under the influence resulting in injury, two counts of driving with a 0.08 percent blood alcohol content level causing injury and great bodily injury allegations for all four vehicle code violations.

"The behavior demonstrated both prior to and after the incident, as documented by the defendant's own recording, is disturbing and shocking," Chief Deputy District Attorney Harold Nutt was quoted as saying by KCRA-TV.

"The Merced County District Attorney's Office will do everything in its power to see that justice is done in this matter," said Nutt.

Sanchez crashed on July 21 in Los Banos, about 465 km north of Los Angeles. The one passenger killed in the accident was her 14-year-old sister, and the other teenager girl suffered a major injury.

Sanchez faces a maximum sentence of 13 years and 8 months in state prison if she is convicted, and the District Attorney's Office is not ruling out the possibility of additional charges, KCRA-TV reported. Enditem
