KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's central bank, Bank Negara, said Thursday that its international reserves amounted to 100.8 billion U.S. dollars (equivalent to 432.8 billion ringgit) as of Sept. 15.
The international reserves were 0.3 percent higher when compared with 100.5 billion U.S. dollar as of Aug 30.
The international reserves were consisted of 94.3 billion U.S. dollars in foreign currency reserves, 800 million U.S. dollars in International Monetary Fund Reserves Position, 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in gold and 3 billion U.S. dollars in other reserves assets.
The reserves position is sufficient to finance 7.7 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt. Enditem
