LUANDA, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Six Angolans and a South African were killed in a plane crash in Angola's northeastern Lunda Norte province, the authorities announced Friday.
In a press conference, the director of the Office of Prevention and Investigation of Air Accidents (GPIAA), Luis Antonio Solo said that the victims include three crew members and four passengers.
"The Brazil-made Embraer aircraft, took off at Kamakenzo Airport, in the city of Dundo (Lunda Norte), for the country's capital, Luanda, at 4:85 p.m. and went missing 30 minutes later," reported the official.
The debris of the plane was reported to have been found by a hunter in Cuilo municipality, 320 kilometers from Dundo, near the Nacarumbo lagoon.
Solo said the causes of the accident are still being investigated, but mentioned that the crew had reported "malfunction in the engine followed by fire as well as adverse weather conditions" before the aircraft went missing. Enditem
