TRIPOLI, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's Ambassador to Libya, Kim Young-chae, on Tuesday announced that the South Korean companies will soon resume work in Libya and complete suspended projects.

Young-chae made his remarks during a meeting with the Libyan Deputy Foreign Minister, Lutfi Maghrabi, in the Libyan capital Tripoli.

"The fleeing of a number of Korean companies operating in Libya is a step backwards that will be followed by a breakthrough to move forward and participate in the process of construction and rebuilding," Young-chae said.

Maghrabi revealed that the South Korean Ambassador was in Libya and held a reception attended by a number of officials and corporate managers at the Embassy in Tripoli.

"There are contacts between the two countries to coordinate the return of South Korean companies to Libya," Maghrabi said. "Libya, with all its institutions, is working to facilitate the presence of guests. Things will be promising for the return of South Korean companies and others to work and participate in construction and development."

Foreign companies and embassies in Libya have left the country after the outbreak of armed fighting in the capital Tripoli between rival armed groups, which created the current political division. Enditem
