JAKARTA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Beach volleyball players of Indonesia have set a higher target, gold medal, in the Asian Games next year and posting the fourth position for indoor volleyball, association disclosed.
Previously the beach volleyball athletes were expected to secure a silver medal in the biggest regional sport event which will be held in Indonesia next year.
Senior official at the country's volleyball association Hanny S. Surkatty said that the renewed target was set up based on the latest performance of the country's athletes in some international tournaments, which has indicated significant improvement.
"Based on that we are confident to make a better achievement in the Asian Games," the official disclosed on Wednesday night.
Indonesian beach volleyball players have often had a good record by securing medals, including silver and bronze, according to the association.
The 18th Asian Games is scheduled to be held in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital and Palembang city of South Sumatra province from August 18 to September 2. Enditem
