ATHENS, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Greece's primary surplus for 2017 was finally set at 3.9 percent of the GDP, according to a Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) report released on Monday.
The previous announcement of the Authority reported that the primary surplus for last year was 4 percent of the GDP.
The revision of the provision happened due to methodological changes and to the revision of GDP, according to an ELSTAT press announcement.
ELSTAT's report also showed that in absolute terms the primary surplus declined in 2017 to 7.01 billion euros (8.04 billion U.S. dollars) from 7.08 billion euros, while debt is slightly higher, at 317.414 billion euros instead of 314.407 billion euros.
As for the ratio of the GDP, Greece's debt reached 176.1 percent in 2017. (1 euro = 1.14 U.S. dollars) Enditem
