SKOPJE, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Officials from North Macedonia and Greece signed here on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the mutual reduction of roaming charges.
North Macedonia's Information Society and Administration Minister Damjan Manchevski and Greece's Minister for Digital Policy, Telecommunications and Media Nikos Pappas held a press conference after the signing ceremony.
"We agreed that the maximum charge for roaming services should be reduced to the level applied in the European Union," declared Manchevski.
According to Manchevski, the MoU foresees a dynamic reduction of wholesale and retail charges for roaming services.
"We will try to achieve concrete results ... by the end of May and early June," stated Manchevski.
Pappas underlined that the two sides are prepared to take all legal measures for the citizens of the two countries to enjoy reduced telecommunication costs ahead of the coming tourist season.
The two ministers said the signing of this MoU represents the first bilateral activity in the wake of the signing of Prespa Agreement, stressing that many others will follow in the future. Enditem
