YANGON, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar has registered a pass rate of matriculation examination at 31.44 percent nationwide in the 2018-2019 academic year, according to a release from the Ministry of Education on Saturday.
The figure showed a slight drop from 32.82 percent in the 2017-2018 academic year.
A total of 851,524 students sat for the matriculation exam in the 2018-2019 academic year countrywide, of whom 267,696 students passed.
During the period, Yangon region received the pass rate of 32.63 percent, the ministry's figures said.
In the previous academic year 2017-2018, 789,845 students appeared for the examination across the country, of whom 259,193 passed.
