TUNIS, June 21 (Xinhua) -- A digital platform to support investors was launched on the sidelines of Tunisia Investment Forum (TIF 2019) on June 20 and 21.
"The objective of this platform is to digitize 100 percent of the investment operations," said a statement by the Tunisian government quoting Prime Minister Youssef Chahed on Friday.
"Tunisia will be a hotbed for investment by 2030," said Chahed, adding that the improvement of business climate is at the top of the government's priorities.
"Moreover, 16 percent of the state budget is allocated to defense and security," he noted.
According to Chahed, 2018 was the best year in terms of investment thanks to the digitization of public tenders and the promulgation of law on economic activities, ensuring streamlining administrative procedures.
TIF 2019 was organized by the Tunisian Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) and supported by the Tunisian Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation.
The TIF aimed to present what Tunisia has to offer as an investment site.
According to the FIPA, the TIF 2019 aimed to promote an open and interactive debate, figure out investment opportunities and identify challenges that Tunisia faces, to be a destination for foreign investors. Enditem
