JAKARTA, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- An 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck off South Sulawesi province in central parts of Indonesia on Thursday evening, the meteorology and geophysics agency said.
The quake occurred at 20:38 p.m. Jakarta time (1338 GMT) with epicenter at 34 km northeast Lolak Bolaang Mongondow and with the depth at 243 km under sea bed, official in charge at the agency Agung M Utomo told Xinhua.
Indonesia is prone to earthquake as it lies on a quake-prone zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire." Enditem
