WARSAW, March 23 (Xinhua) -- The Italian Embassy in Poland confirmed on Monday that the batch of 23,000 FFP2 masks involved in an alleged seizure incident will be delivered soon to the Italian region of Lazio.

The Italian Embassy in Warsaw tweeted that "the delivery of the masks to Italy will soon carry on without major problems. Thanks to the Polish authorities for the cooperation in this difficult moment for Italy."

The announcement came after Lazio's regional head of healthcare Alessio D'Amato Saturday accused Polish customs of seizing the masks and called for the return of the "unjustly taken goods," Italian press agency ANSA reported.

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, however, on Sunday dismissed the alleged seizure as "fake news" and called for caution with what it said "unverified information." Enditem
