Cape Verde reports 4th COVID-19 confirmed case: official

PRAIA, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Cape Verde's Health minister Arlindo do Rosario confirmed on Wednesday the fourth positive case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the archipelago.

According to him, it is a 43-year-old Cape Verdean citizen living in Praia, who arrived from France on March 18 and started to have a respiratory condition with cough and fever, the result of the examination for COVID-19 being positive.

The minister also informed the patient is "clinically stable, without fever and without shortness of breath" and receives "all the necessary care".

Cape Verde has so far reported four positive cases of COVID-19, with the first three on the island of Boa Vista, all foreign nationals.

The first confirmed case in the country, a 62-year-old English tourist, died on March 23 evening due to COVID-19. Enditem
