VIENTIANE, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The ninth COVID-19 case in Laos has been confirmed, Lao Deputy Health Minister Phouthone Moungpak said Monday.
The new case is a 22-year-old woman living in capital Vientiane. On March 14, she reportedly travelled to Thailand.
The patient is now being treated in the designated hospital, the Mittaphab Hospital (150 Hospital) in the capital.
There are nine confirmed cases in Laos, including six in capital Vientiane and three in Luang Prabang province.
All of them are not in serious condition and the treatment is going well, said the minister.
Laos announced the detection of the first two confirmed COVID-19 cases last Tuesday, including a female tourist guide and a male hotel staff.
The third, announced on Wednesday, is a 26-year-old businessman in Vientiane, and a friend of them hotel staff. Enditem
