JERUSALEM, May 8 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli basketball Super League will resume in late June after halted in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Israeli Basketball Super League Administration (BSL) said Friday.
The training and games will be resumed under Ministry of Health restrictions, such as holding games behind closed doors, keeping distance between staff members and players, and using hygiene measures.
According to the BSL's statement, foreign players, most of them from the U.S., will have to return to Israel by May 17 to undergo two-week quarantine, like anyone else entering Israel.
Then, in late May, team training is scheduled to restart, and after three weeks the games are scheduled to return to action.
The final four tournament, in which the champion will be determined, is scheduled for late July.
The BSL decision came two days after the state's Ministry of Sports and the Israeli Professional Football Leagues (IPFL) announced the return of Israel's two professional soccer leagues on May 30. Enditem
