Two parliamentary candidates killed in road accident in Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Two parliamentary candidates were killed in a road accident in Mongolia Monday morning, local media reported.

The accident occurred on the road linking Ulan Bator to Darkhan in the north. The deceased were candidates from the political coalition "Sahigtun! Constitution 19".

Three other people traveling with them are in critical condition and hospitalized, according to sources.

Mongolia is scheduled to hold general elections on June 24. A total of 485 candidates from 13 political parties and four coalitions as well as 121 independent candidates are competing for 76 parliamentary seats, according to the General Election Commission of the East Asian country. Enditem
