NEW YORK, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 jolted Chagos Archipelago region at 17:24:04 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 4.0692 degrees south latitude and 70.2513 degrees east longitude. Enditem
